Tally / Player development

Measure them. Coach them. Watch them grow.

Testing days, verticals and each player's focus, beside the match and practice stats you already keep. One page per player shows all of it.

A testing day, timed

Twelve players, three measures, 254 taps.

Counted on our sample team: standing reach, standing jump and approach jump for twelve players, three tries at each jump. Every vertical and every new best is worked out before the last player sits down.

  1. Measure players: the measures, the tries for each and the line of players

Pick the measuresThree measures, twelve players, about 23 minutes by its own estimate. One tap starts it.

  2. Station 1, the sixth player: the line, each player's last figure and the foot and inch keys

Three taps a playerThe foot, the inch, Save. The line fills as each one is measured, with last time's figure on the card.

  3. The second station, opened on its own when the first was done

The next station opens itselfThree tries each at the jumps; the dots under every name say who still owes one.

  4. The summary: every player's best, both verticals and the new bests

Done, every vertical worked outBest of each, both verticals, new bests in green. Saved on the phone, signal or not.

Testing days

Six measures, or your own.

Height, standing reach, standing and approach jump reach, spike and serve speed, by station or by player. The pad moves to the next player in line, and to the next station when everyone is done.

  • 1Several coaches at once. One coach on standing reach, another on approach jumps, every try landing on one testing day.
  • 2No signal needed. Every try saves on the device and syncs when you are back on wifi.
  • 3Your own measures. Add a pro agility time, a plank or anything with a number.

Measures

Every vertical, worked out for you.

Tally subtracts standing reach from each jump, checks it against your net, and marks a new best with PB and a drop in red. Sort by any column, or switch to each player's season best.

Team, Measures: each player's reach, jumps and verticals with the change since last time
Team, Measures: the highlights, the biggest gain since last time, new bests and the highest touch

Focus

Each player's #1, and the drill for it.

Pick from 106 standard issues, from "Doesn't get behind the ball" to "Body language after errors", or write your own. Tally spots when three players share one and offers it as a team issue.

  • ✓A cue for every issue. "Get behind it", with the drill and how you will know it is fixed.
  • ✓Goals with a date. Approach vertical 26 inches by December 15, and how they are pacing.

The player's page

The whole season, against the team.

Serving, passing, hitting and digging against the rest of the team, the rank on each, recent sessions and testing days, and what the player is working on. Open it before a parent meeting or a lineup decision.
